I was rear-ended. Other driver found at fault. The damages will probably be in the $700-900 range and my collision deductible is $1000. I have no problem paying the full $1000 deductible but if I do is my insurance company obligated to pursue the at fault driver and recover on my behalf?

I need some advice. I am an assistant manager at a small call center where I have worked for around 5 years (3 of them full-time). It was just announced to me and the manager (the only 2 full-time employees), that we have been bought by another call center that is not located in our town. It seems like the ideal insurance company wants you to drive a safe and slow bumper car and have absolutely no fun driving to and from wherever you are going. They assume that any sports car or car with performance enhancements means you will crash. It means you are a reckless driver and no good to the general public. It means you will blatantly violate the rules of the road and have no remorse for doing it. All of that is a load of crap... I got in an accident at and intersection the other day. i was heading north ready to turn west(my left) at the intersection. the other driver was heading south with her left blinker on ready to turn east (her left). so when i saw her blinker o n i figured it was safe to take my turn now. but in the middle of my turn she decides to keep going straight rather than turning left like her blinker had indicated. therefore she hit me in my rear passenger side with her front passenger side. she did not have much damage. however my car is fairly warped up in the rear end. it may even be totaled although it is drivable. i am just waiting for the appraisal right now. when we began speaking to the cop i mentioned that she had her blinker on, but she denied this. i alerted my insurance company and they filed a claim. i heard from her insurance company and they sent me to get and appraisal. i sent the accident report to the police station the rmv and my insurance yesterday. So if a woman has a baby they are no longer eligible for insurance? Most women who get pregnant take this drug (including both my sisters) yet they still have insurance. What I'm thinking is what if I buy an s-type, and replace the engine with a small 1.6L engine (I don't care about speed, just luxury) and change the car to a 'kit car' status, will that lower my insurance to a more affordable rate? My car is still registered to my parents and I have MD insurance through them. I live in SC and insurance is much cheaper down here. I plan on switching the car to me once I have paid the car off. I've been a named driver on my boyfriends policy with the car being in his name for the past couple of years. Now he has a company car and I need the previous car to be insured in business class for my work, we've sent away the forms to the DVLA so I will be the registered owner. But I'm wondering, whether now it means our previous insurance covers the car which i'm still driving daily or not, so should I apply for my own insurance now for when the documents come back or wait until after I recieve the documents!? My husband's mom decided she will pay for life insurance for my husband and I to help out my husbands brother, starting to sell life insurance. The problem is when it came out to filling out all the paper work my husband put his brother down as the person to receive the money, I came in second? His answer to why he did that he said I know my brother will take care of you I ofcourse got mad because I can take care of myself, I will be the one making arrangements for his funeral and all if something where to happen(knock on wood it doesnt happen). I will be the one stuck with all the bills, and how about if the brother doesnt care. He is a low life now what makes my husband think he will take care of me? When I talk to him he says no, im leaving it that way, theres nothing to talk about.
